Give yourself permission to release perfection….
Many of us constantly strive for perfection when healing.
If I do this protocol perfectly, if I regulate my nervous system 50 million times a day, if I do what every doctor or health guru says, I’ll heal.
But that need for perfection is what keeps us stuck. It’s time to learn that it’s safe to RELEASE CONTROL.
When we constantly strive to “get it right,” the body stays in a subtle stress response — alert, hypervigilant, muscles tight, breathing shallow. Over time, this keeps the nervous system stuck in fight, flight, or freeze. This is not a healing state.
Let’s allow ourselves to know that we are always doing our personal best, whatever that looks like for you, and that’s good enough. Guess what? You’re human. As a human, your personal best is good enough. You can always improve when you want to… and for right now, your best is enough.
When we change our thinking from things having to be perfect, to “I am doing my personal best” we send powerful messages of safety to the body.
Over time, our body begins to shift into what it’s meant to do and this is where healing happens.
For help in releasing perfectionism: When you notice yourself ruminating on how you can improve something or do it better, remind yourself you’re doing your best.
